tunnels the ground squirrel

Tripp's Origin Story

Tunnels lives a unique life as he spends about as much time above and below the ground. When he's above ground, he looks for food and meets new friends like Tripp and when he is below ground, he moves through a huge web of tunnels!

mooana the cow

Tripp's Origin Story

The most exciting thing about Mooana is her name. I'm not saying she is boring but if you watch her for ten minutes, you'll probably be ready to move on as all she'll do is stand there and eat grass. But, again, she does have a great name!

dozy the desert tortoise

Death Valley National Park

Dozy became great friends with Tripp because they spent a lot of time together in Death Valley National Park. Dozy has a bolt of lightning birthmark on his shell which is funny because lightning represents fast where Dozy moves really slow.

prism the jack rabbit

Death Valley National Park

Prism loves to paint. She hops, I mean hopes, to get to other national parks to teach other animals how to paint as she is an excellent artist. Tripp would love Prism to paint a portrait of him!

tackle the toad

Death Valley National Park

Tackle loves the water. The problem is he lives in an area of the country where very little rain falls. So, when it rains, Tackle hops around like crazy because he is so happy and excited.

rad the rattlesnake

Death Valley National Park

Rad is so cool that all the desert animals love to watch him surf the sand dunes. He starts really high up and weaves back and forth down the dunes. The animals are smart enough to watch from far away, so they don't become his dinner.

rebel the roadrunner

Death Valley National Park

Rebel loves to zip around the park alone exploring anything and everything. Tripp thinks he's the coolest animal ever as he moves as fast as a sports car and kicks up so much dust!

Chance the california condor

Pinnacles National Park

Chance is the sweetest California condor. He soars high above the ground and does an excellent job caring for his family. He may eat some yucky stuff, but Tripp still loves him.

nibbles the chipmunk

Pinnacles National Park

Nibbles loves to collect stuff for his nest, including twigs! Tripp plans on staying far, far away from him. He doesn't want his twigs to be part of Nibbles' puffy cheeks and nest!

luna the Townsend's Big- eared bat

Pinnacles National Park

Luna, oh Luna, you are simply magical. Thoughtful, helpful, and brave are three of many positive words to describe her.

auburn the sierra nevada red fox

Yosemite National Park

Auburn is Tripp's favorite color (orange)! Although he was a trickster, he gave Tripp great information about what to explore in Yosemite National Park.

slinky the pacific fisher

Yosemite National Park

Slinky and his friends love watching "ants" climb El Capitan!

darby and isi the mule deer

Yosemite National Park

Darby and Isi are very welcoming to Tripp, but they have some very interesting stories associated with how Half Dome became half of a dome.

ofra the mule deer

Yosemite National Park

Darby and Isi's daughter is very knowledgeable about how Half Dome became half of a dome. They are very proud of their daughter!

nattier the ringtail

Zion National Park

phlox the gray fox

Zion National Park

celadon the tiger salamander

Zion National Park

zaffre the northern pocket gopher

Zion National Park

Burly the great basin collared lizard

Zion National Park

atro the mexican spotted owl

Zion National Park
